MrKB is sick. He took yesterday off work, and he's home again today. He's pretty sure he has strep throat. He's got a doctor's appointment tomorrow, but my Mom said he should cancel it 'cuz she's got some antibiotics that she'd just got recently she'll give to him. She ended up being allergic to them and didn't use but a couple days worth. All I know is he's been lying around on the couch like a lump either watching TV or sleeping. Sure hope I don't get this crap...or worse, the kids. That's all I need...
So anyway...finally managed to get around to typing up and printing off some copies of my Christmas newsletter for the cards. Now I just need to get around to signing them and getting them addressed and sent off if I want people to get them before Christmas!
I've got a Christmas angel! One of my blogger friends has the most generous spirit ever, and has helped me to be able to have some presents under our tree for the kids. Thanks to her, their first Christmas with us is going to be great! I don't want to mention her name, because I don't think she'd want the attention...but she knows who she is, and I just wanted to acknowledge it here on my blog. I've never had anybody be so sweet and caring before, and I appreciate it more than she'll ever know. So, a million Thanks to my special Christmas Angel!!! :) You are truly amazing, and have got to have some awesome karma coming back to you! THANK YOU!
This morning I had to go to the doctor for a hearing test. I applied for Disability for my hearing impairment, and they needed more medical evidence. They set the appointment and the test up at no cost to me, so I went...this is one test I knew I wasn't gonna fail, that's for sure. After all, I'm completely deaf in my left ear and have had a hearing aid in the other since I was 10 years old. Hard to believe it's been 24 years now. The good thing about this test is I found out that my hearing hasn't gotten any worse over the last 10 years. I worry about losing what hearing I have left sometimes...
Nothin' else new to report...I'm so boring, I know! LOL

Dana~Don't let Mr. KB take the MIL's antibiotics. You need the full round and it sounds like she took 2 days worth. He really should have the strep test and as quick as possible since strep is so serious. Keep him away from the girls as it is highly contagious. Make sure everyone including the girls are washing their hands often even the baby. That shit is serious stuff.
Oh we know! A long time ago him and a g/f passed it back and forth for six months...he finally went to the doctor and he told him if he waited 2 more days it would have killed him.
Mom's antibiotics said to take 3 times a day for 10 days, and there was 60 pills.
Don't worry, he's been staying away from the girls!
It's wonderful when people are willing to reach out across the internet void and help one another. ^_^
Keep taking your vit C and get plenty of rest, the holidays are a terrible time to fall ill!
I've always said I could catch strep throat from the internet, guess nows the time to find out. I get it all the time. My SIL is a strep carrier and I think she drinks from my cup everytime I go to the bathroom or leave the room.
I'm so happy to hear about you angel! Things always have a way of working out! So sorry about the Hubby, hope he is feedling better soon!
I had strep throat a few years ago and it took the doctors FOREVER to get rid of it. They didn't want to prescribe Cipro because it was in such high demand and the strain I had was immune to what they gave me. Once I finally go on the more powerful antibiotics, the symptoms vanished quickly and I was cured. So it might be a good idea to see the doctor since sometimes it can be very hard to get rid of.
And special thanks to the Christmas Angel. I knew everything was going to work out.
That's great that your hearing hasn't changed!!
Hope hubby feels better soon - strep sucks!!
Hope everything settles down for you all.
Have a good weekend.

Strep sucks!! If anyone in lil Garth's school has it I swear he gets it. As soon as he says his throat is scratchy we're at the dr. Hope Mr.KB is feeling a bit better now that we're heading into the weekend. The fosters would love to have Andy come back with that. I'm sure they'd say the strep was caused by smoke.
Looking for information and found it at this great site...
