Fuckin' Kodak...

Okay, so my old camera was a Kodak EasyShare, and I had the software on my computer and had no problems with it. Well on that software I had something like 1300 pictures.

New camera is also a Kodak EasyShare, but I had to update the software. I tried several times to get the shit installed, and the first attempt it got an error that it couldn't complete installation...AND IT SHUT DOWN ALL SOFTWARE. After several tries, I've got it installed now, and you will see new pictures soon...what I'm pissed off about is I LOST A BUNCH OF PICTURES THAT I ORIGINALLY HAD!!!!! Now, a lot of them I do have on disks, thank gosh, but there were still a bunch that I didn't have on disk yet because I don't have a CD burner on my computer. :( Pictures from Destiny's birthday? Gone. Pics from last Halloween? Gone.

Dammit!

*EDIT* Okay, I've been spending all damn day going through things on my harddrive to see if I can find the missing pictures. Good news is I have found a bunch of them! Bad news...I have to go through them ONE BY ONE and re-add them to my software files so I can access them easily when I need to. I have SO got to get a cd burner for my computer!!! Then I won't have this headache again!

Software can be complicated and doesn't always work; but it doesn't usually delete files that it didn't install. The pics should still be on your computer somewhere.

I use a Pentax. The camera and the software both rock.

I lost a bunch of vacation pics... user error though, I couldn't even blame software, I was just a dumb bunny and I accidently reformatted my memory...
I'm so glad you are getting finding yours!

The other option is to get an online harddrive to upload them to.

BTW... I've finally linked you. :)

I did that and learnt the hard way, thats why I have an external hard drive now where I put everything from the lappy - and I mean everything..lol.

Ohhhhh, I'd so be contacting Kodak with a complaint letter about their software not working with the old software. They pay people to figure that stuff out. Maybe you'd even get some thing free out of the whole mess.

That's happened to me too. It's still there, just gotta dig for it all now. CD burners, who knew we couldn't function without them!

I'm glad that you found your pictures. I put mine in separate folders on the hard drive when I download them so I always know what they are for.
