Monday, Monday

My weekend went pretty well...MrKB and I went out to the casino Friday night and left the girls with Grandma for the night. Wish I could say we won a whole bunch of money, but nope. Still had a good time though!

Saturday we went running around for awhile with my Mom before going to pick the girls up from his Mom's. Went to some garage sales...I found a bunch of snowman things for next Christmas, a cute little pair of tennis shoes for Meghan, and some other little odds and ends. Not a lot of garage sales going on yet, but it won't be long! It was a nice weekend weather-wise, mostly in the 70s. Now it's cold again, 45 degrees and the wind is blowing pretty hard, making it feel like it's the 30s. Freakin' Okie weather!

After garage sales, Mom took us out for lunch to celebrate MrKB's birthday. He said to tell y'all Thank You for the birthday wishes, you helped make his day!

Sunday we went to Andy's birthday party. It was held at this place called "Maximum Dodgeball". That place kinda sucks, really. It was basically just a small gym floor and a few wooden benches. The kids had a good time throwing balls back and forth at each other, though. No rules to it, just throwing balls and trying to hit someone. In my opinion, not the best place for a kid's birthday party, but oh well.

Meghan is 11 months old today! I can't believe her first birthday is just a month away! Where has the year gone?!? Still no teeth yet. Yesterday she was running a low-grade fever and was kinda fussy, so maybe they'll make an appearance soon. I need to start figuring out what we're going to do for her birthday. Will probably just have a get-together here at our house with family or something. I do want to get one of those little round birthday cakes just for Meghan...we'll sit her in her high chair, put it in front of her and just let her go to town! :)

Nothing else going on with me...Gotta do the domestic thing and clean the house, do laundry, etc. Blah. Wish I could get a maid, but I suppose having those things to do keeps me from being totally bored every day. May spend next weekend Spring Cleaning. I need to go through the girls' clothes and find stuff for a garage sale at the end of the month in my parents' neighborhood. Lots of baby stuff for sure....

When my brother and I were wee my ma used to make us our own cake that looked like a panda bear sitting upright. It's one of my favorite memories.

I love the little cake just for her. I always think the first birthday is a good one to have at home...they don't really remember the big circus or chuck e. cheese thing and it's so much more loving I think to just have their first one surrounded by the ones who love them and keep them secure.
Happy belated birthday to your hubby!

First birthdays ahead... Hubby's birthday behind and a friends birthday in between. Sounds busy round your house :)
(happy belated hubby, btw )
lol a room full of balls for kids to whip at each other! lol pending on the age- it actually sounds like a perfect place to have a kids birthday. Especially for lil boys between the ages of 5-9 LOL
trust me...
First birthdays are always best at home & the lil cake is a great idea.
Have fun planning that.. *sigh* I miss that stage.

What, the idea of kids pegging one another with rubber balls at a high velocity of speed doesn't sound safe?

No fun.

Thank goodness Mr. Coach hasn't heard about the dodgeball place, or we'd be heading to the City for his birthday!!!! Not that we'd go that far for the kids birthday, but he'd pack all his friends up for that! Check around, Wal-mart and sometimes chain grocery stores will give the little cake free w/ purchase of a big cake for a 1st birthday. Wish I was there, I'd make her cake for you, I love making first birthday cakes!
