I'm Beyond Tired...

I am freakin' exhausted!!

Meghan is not sleeping through the night lately. Three out of the last four nights she has kept me up VERY late. Last night I was in bed less than an hour, hadn't even really got to sleep yet, and she woke up hollering at the top of her lungs. That was at about 2:30am....I managed to get her back to sleep, then she was up again at 5am...screamed her head off for well over an hour and finally went back to sleep at 7am. Damn. Then there's Destiny, who is up every morning around 9am or so.

The night before, Meghan kept me up until 4:30am, but at least when she went to sleep she stayed asleep until around 10.

No wonder I'm so tired.

Speaking of Destiny....How long does it take to potty train a child?!?! We've been working with her since she came to us last summer to get her potty trained. The people she was with before hadn't even attempted it apparently, since she was in DIAPERS still. She doesn't poop in her pants anymore, hasn't for quite some time, unless she's got the shits, and I can overlook that. But getting her to quit peeing in her pants is driving me insane!!! Her personal record for staying dry so far is four days. That was this last week. Then she went to Grandma's, and that got shot all to hell. She hasn't stayed dry more than one day since. Ugh. I'm so tired of it, and it seems like I'm the only one trying to get it done. Oh, MrKB will take her to the potty if I ask him to, but not without attitude, like "I suppose!" Sheesh.

I am in a funk. I need a break, seriously....like a whole weekend without the kids...no cleaning up after everyone, no laundry, no cooking (which I totally hate, but I have to do it), no dishes to be washed...I need time to do what I WANT to do, not what has to be done. I want to SLEEP. I want to just spend time with MrKB. I wanna go to the casino and win lots of money.

Don't see all that happening anytime soon. Especially not this weekend, since Andy is supposed to be with us.

I want to get the adoption on the girls finished, so DHS and everybody will be out of the picture and we can finally feel like a normal family. I want to get their ears pierced, and I can't even do that until DHS says it's okay. Bah!

Gotta go fix lunch for Destiny now and get her down for a nap. Meghan fell asleep in her exersaucer, and if she stays asleep maybe I can get a nap in too.

Sorry for being a downer...just felt like venting a bit.

((hug)) Being a mom can be a little overwhelming at times. Hubby and I like to try to have a date night like 3 times a year. And I mean we leave the kids with the grandparents, we get a hotel room, we get liquor and we eat out at a nice restaurant before we go back to the room, drink too much and have “our” time. I know that is probably not an option for you right now, but once things calm down you might want to think about trying to set up a date night for you and MrKB.

And as far as the potty training goes, each kid is different. But I’m sure you have heard that one before. My middle one is turning 3 tomorrow so she is the same age as Destiny. We are in the middle of potty training also. Grace is great during the day. Never has accidents and she has been doing great during the day for some time now. It’s nights that kill us. She has to wear pull-ups or else she just wets all over the bedding and that doesn’t even wake her up. I’m not sure what I am going to do to get her broke over night. But my point is, give it some more time. Be persistent, but understand when there are accidents. And one thing that has worked for us was telling Grace that she couldn’t go to school until she could use the potty like a big girl. She really wants to go to school so she strived to reach her goal of not going potty in her panties and using the big girl potty.

Wow, I wrote a dang novel. Sorry about that. I guess I just want to tell you not to worry too much and try not to stress over the small stuff. It will all be OK in the end.

Woman, take some time for youreslf and do thy nails, rest in a hot, bubbly tub or any of a hundred other things you can do to get away from it all without leaving the country. Thus decreeth Sir Thomas of Gunn, Duke of Pornia. (I'd listen to him if I were you, he is the Duke after all.) Get a little selfish, if you aren't there to take care of things and there is another responsible adult present, shit will get done. But you need to destress (and take a few more pictures in that thong! hummina-hummina!) Have a great weekend doll.

You really need to take some time for yourself. When our kids were younger I used to take them out someplace for the evening so California Girl could have the house to herself for a while. Or sometimes, she might go and do something while I stayed home with the kids. The kids (principally The Boy) didn't like it much since I made them clean up but the house would be pristine when she returned.

Oh girl! You just brought back my last decade. I know I've said it before, but enjoy these times because they will be over before ya know it!

Kids will train themselves when they are ready. It' tough because you want it to happen overnight. My oldest was hard to train. I finally stopped making a big deal about it when my grandma said, "How many people do you know that aren't potty trained?" Good advice!

Give Destiny a little break. After all she's been through, this may feel like the only thing SHE has control over and therefore she's going to do it on her terms.

I wish I lived closer cause I'd gladly take your girls for the night. My girls would love it!

THE JOYS OF BEING A SAHM!!!! I know exactly how you're feeling. I'm in a bit of a slump myself the last few days....someone remind me why I left my job. I told you this would happen, give it another week and Meghan will have a tooth or two. Taylor had me up for a good 2 weeks before her first 2 teeth broke through. As soon as she falls asleep during the day make Destiny take a nap too if I didn't do that with Analda and make her nap when taylor was I would have totally lost my mind. As for potty training...Analda had a hard time too. I bribed her with candy...it's not text book but it worked for us. Good Luck! Hugs!

make a tent - you know, one of those bankie tents we loved as kids...
tell her it's a sleepover, campover... something - then sleep in it with her.
if she loves it remind her you can have sleepovers once in a while when she's done a good job of showing what a big grl she is..
you know... potty, putting herself back to sleep when she wakes up .... if nothing else you'll get a good nap. worked for my two and about 5 I cared for in the under 4 age.

Hey sugar, get the family to take the kids for ya and have yourself a grand ole time doing whatever makes ya happy. I don't have kids, but everyone needs a break from something every now and again. :-). The pic of Meghan doing the *poopy face* is too cute *giggles*. And about your 9 yr old nephew. Hell ain't we all had thoughts of what we would like to do to people who have bullied us?. Well, haven't we?? ;-). I hope the therapists don't make that boy feel like he is crazy and want to cure him with all those physco drugs. Just let that poor child vent. Just sayin... I mean I have went through some of these feelings from time to time in my life. Have a good weekend sugar...

Don't apologize for venting. I was under the impression blogs were created with venting as one their purposes. :-)
